Sandia National Labs Academic Programs Collaboration Report

Sandia-Norfolk State visit results in collaboration and job opportunities

Sandia Campus Executive Kate Helean and Deputy Campus Executive Christian Mailhoit visited Norfolk State University (NSU) on April 11-12 to meet with Michael Keeve, Dean of the Science, Engineering and Technology College, Patricia F. Mead, the Chair of the College of Engineering, and Aurelia T. Williams, the Executive Director of the Cybersecurity Complex, to discuss the strategic priorities for each institution and how to strengthen the Sandia-NSU partnership.

Seven classroom discussions resulted in 38 students submitting profiles to engage in the 2023 intern program or indicating interest in Limited Term Employee/Full Time Employee career opportunities. In addition, the Sandia team toured several research institutes which spurred discussions around current and potential research collaborations.

Discussions of current and potential research collaborations brought together leaders of Sandia and Norfolk State.
