North Carolina A&T and Sandia to partner on wide range of research

Sandia’s Campus Executive for North Carolina A&T (NC A&T) Basil Hassan and Deputy Campus Executive Carl Rhinehart made an official visit to NC A&T in March 2022. They met with Eric Muth, Vice Chancellor of Research and Economic Development, and several representatives and faculty from the College of Engineering and College of Science and Technology. Hassan and Rhinehart gave overviews of Sandia and the START HBCU program and provided updates on recently funded research and hiring statistics. Faculty presentations focused on areas of nanoscience and technology, materials, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, cyber and hypersonics. Additionally, NC A&T students gave a status briefing on

a Sandia-funded Capstone project where they are developing an additively manufactured lens mount for space applications.

Leadership from North Carolina A&T and Sandia met together for research discussions in March 2022.
